Contributions

In line with the objectives of the ICA Commission on Geovisualization the GeoViz_Hamburg Workshop is focused on giving researchers the chance to demonstrate their work to colleagues and receive feedback upon it. In light of this we have scheduled opportunities for presentation and both formal and informal discussion of your work and ideas which will be explained in the following. We hope that this format will be useful to you and that it will be enjoyable. We also hope that you will participate in discussing the research of others who attend.

Publication:  The abstracts of accepted presentations will be published online at the workshop web site. In addition, selected submissions will be invited for consideration in a special issue of the journal CARTOGRAPHICA.

Presentation formats: During the Workshop the following formats will be used: Oral presentations (10 minutes plus 5 minutes discussion) and mini-talks (5 minutes plus poster or live demo at the Workshop site). In the opening session we will kick-off the Workshop with a 1-minute introduction by all participants.

Poster (P)Re-cycling: At GeoViz_Hamburg 2011 we are introducing a new idea to encourage academic dicussuion and information exchange. We invite all participants to bring a poster to Hamburg that they have used in the past or plan to use at another venue.  Posters may include live demos. These contributions will be on display throughout the meeting in the atrium as prompts for discussion. If you would like to (P)Re-Cycle a poster, then please contact us until February 15, 2011 (with title and information how much space is needed).
